After years of travel, I've come to appreciate the fine art of packing and I am slowly learning how to pack a suitcase and how to pack lightly. As an additional luggage security measure, use plastic or nylon filament duct tape to completely wrap your luggage to prevent it from opening accidentally when dropped by baggage handlers.
When picking the right suitcase, the first step to great packing is to purchase a great bag. Until recently, tags were made of paper or cardboard paper that was inserted into a plastic pouch tied to your luggage with a string. Some trunks were made of other materials including cow, horse, and deer hide.
You can then add carry on luggage in the twenty two inch size when your trip is longer than one week. You don t want your luggage getting torn on the conveyer belt and all your belongings falling out everywhere. This will make it much easier to move about with your luggage and you would not have the heavy luggage to carry.
Nowadays everything can be bought in travel size and they take up a lot less space then a jumbo bottle of shampoo. Instead of packing a sweater, try packing a light jacket.
